On Discipline in the Church


The Mennonite magazine is hosting a blog conversation about the 1995 Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective. Here's a recent contribution that Pastor Joel Shenk made on Article 14: Discipline in the Church.

In his contribution, Pastor Joel writes, "The answer about church discipline is not in returning to a supposed golden age when the church did discipline well. Even if we wanted to, we would not achieve a unifying consensus on what grounds and under whose authority discipline should be exercised.  Rather the answer of church discipline is in a reneweed committment to teach and pass on the faith..."  Click here to read more.
