Toledo Mennonite Church seeks qualified candidates for the position of Church Administrator.  The Church Administrator works in close collaboration with the Pastor to meet the administrative and communication needs of the congregation.  Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter and resume to Joel Shenk, Pastor of Toledo Mennonite Church.  The position is currently open until filled.  

 16 hrs. Per Week

$12.00 - $14.00 per hour based on experience

B.    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned in communication with the Pastor. 

1.     Office Administration

a.     Serve as the receptionist for the church office

b.     Maintain church office (i.e. supplies, equipment, mailings, copies, etc)

c.     Maintain the master Calendar for Toledo Mennonite Church

d.     Maintain files of correspondence and church records, (mailing list, membership, birthdays/anniversaries, meeting minutes, etc.) 

e.     Distribute, gather, and tabulate information for the Gifts & Ministries Discernment Committee; prepare slate of ministries ballot

f.      Assume responsibility for the preparation of the Annual Report, telephone directory, and any other special projects

g.     Distribute keys for the church building as needed

h.     Print certificates for baby dedications, baptisms, membership transfers, weddings, etc.

i.      Light office cleaning  

2.     Communication

a.     Prepare and type bulletins for Sunday worship and special events

b.     Coordinate the schedule of volunteers for Sunday worship and special events in the following areas: worship leaders, song leaders, accompanists, scripture readers, ushers, sound technicians, and nursery.

c.     Maintain and/or create new systems of communication for TMC participants and the larger Toledo Community

d.     Update church sign as need (minimal)

e.     Assist the Pastor with communications as requested (minimal) 

f.      Distribute press releases and other congregational information to newspapers and denominational publications (i.e. Ohio Evangel)

 1.     Bookkeeping

a.     Review for reasonableness and process all accounts payable check requests, purchase orders, and invoices, handle inquiries from vendors, and maintain up to date and orderly vendor files

b.     Assist the TMC Treasurer on managing and reconciling the TMC Quick Books

c.     Assist the TMC Treasurer in counting all donations and maintaining donor records

d.     Prepare and make bank deposits

A.    Appointment and Relationship to Church Structure

  1. The Leadership Team, based on a proposal by the Pastor, secures the Church Administrator

  2. The Church Administrator is accountable to the Pastor. There will be an annual evaluation by the Pastor with a recommendation given to The Leadership Team. The Pastor will work will work with the Church Administrator in making changes in the job description as needed as employment continues

  3. The Treasurer and The Leadership Team will determine salary each year in consultation with the Church Administrator and the Pastor

  4. Relate to the Compassion Fund Committee as a non-voting member; communicate requests to the appropriate committee members, and assist with distribution as requested

  5. Assist with communication between commissions as necessary

  6. This position has no supervisory responsibilities
