Happy New Year 2017!

Tutoring went well in October & November. We started off the year with a great fundraiser at the Toledo Mennonite Church Quilt Show, with special musical guest Kerry Patrick Clark. We've been serving seven students from McTigue Elementary, and fourteen volunteers gave their time to the program in the first part of the year as tutors for our students. (Check out our Facebook page to read the updates posted during the fall).

We are all set to resume this Monday, January 9, after our winter break! We have missed our students and are looking forward to seeing them again. New volunteers are starting this week as well, which we are very excited about.

Reading new books is also a fun way to celebrate a new year!

The American Library Association has a great list of notable new children's books that were published in 2016, sorted by audience (Younger Readers, Middle Readers, Older Readers): http://www.ala.org/alsc/awardsgrants/notalists/ncb.

What did you read over the holidays?
